Ridna Shkola is the Ukrainian Saturday School for school-age students, kindergarten on up. It was established more than 50 years ago with the mission of teaching our own young ones the Ukrainian language, history and culture. The staff of the school consists of five teachers plus a director, all of whom work in concert with the Parents’ Committee members. Ridna Shkola with the active involvement of the parents presents several performances throughout the year: Halloween Masquerade, Christmas, Taras Shevchenko’s Memorial, and Mother’s Day. The Ridna Shkola academic year begins in mid-August and culminates with a graduation picnic around end of May. Each Saturday the school opens at 9 am and ends at 1pm with a half hour snack break.
